Foraged Christmas Wreath
Let’s make a Foraged Christmas Wreath! I love using foraged finds to bring charm to my home. This wreath is made using some foraged berries and balsam fir boughs that were leftover from a local Christmas tree farm. I love how charming and rustic this it makes my front door look. You can truly make this wreath your own!

Supplies Needed for Creating a Foraged Christmas Wreath
-Foraged goods: I used fir boughs and berries on a vine. Really any evergreen clipping would be great. You can also pick up dried florals at a craft store if foraging isn’t your thing.
-You can use hot glue or floral wire. I choose to just tuck the foraged goods into the grapevine wreath so I can reuse it for another season.

What I love About Foraged Projects
I believe that nature really has the most beautiful decor of all. You just have to walk outside to take in the season around you. The colors and textures can be so inspiring. The green of this fir and the red in these berries , along with the texture, just cannot be manufactured. God’s beautiful creation!
I also really like the fact that I can reuse this one wreath every season, and I do not have to rely on buying a new one (and I also don’t have to store it all year). It’s very ecological.
I really like the tradition of it all. My daughter and I go to the same fence in our neighborhood to forage for these red berries for our wreath very year. I hope she always has eyes to see the beauty of the world around her!

How to Make a Foraged Christmas Wreath
Step 1. Start with gathering all your supplies and have everything ready to go.
Step 2. Trim all your evergreen clipping to similar lengths.
Step 3. Start with tucking the evergreen into the grapevine. You will go around the wreath, tucking the boughs in the same direction as you go. Don’t worry about it all looking perfect. Just layer as you go so that there aren’t a ton of bare spaces and it looks even.
Step 4. Once all the evergreen is tucked in, step back and see if it looks even. You can use your scissors to trim any pieces that look too long or you can take pieces out and rearrange to make it look how you want.
Step 5. Once you get the evergreen arranged how you would like, take whatever you have for your second layer ( I used these red berries on a vine), and start tucking it around in areas that look symmetrical.
Other Ideas to Add to Your Wreath:
You can also used other foraged items. Ideas for this would include:
- Pine Cones
- Leaves
- Sticks
- Dried Grasses or other flowers
- Ivy
- You can also add something brass like the horn I added, or some brass bells.
I hope this tutorial inspires you to step outside and see the beauty around you!
pin it for later…
