Waste not, want not! Afterall, I’m just a mom st Waste not, want not!

Afterall, I’m just a mom standing in front of her kids, asking them to eat (and not waste their food) 😘

Mix 1/4 cup of sugar or brown sugar with 1 teaspoon cinnamon, add 2 eggs and 1 cup milk.
Mix well, pour over cut up bread or crusts.
Pat down so the bread absorbs.

If you’re like me, maybe you need some inspiration If you’re like me, maybe you need some inspiration for meals.

Here are 10 breakfast ideas that I came up with to help with simplifying. And it’s ok to repeat meals! I’m probably going to make oatmeal twice this week because it’s easy.

The first thing I’m working on in my quest for sim The first thing I’m working on in my quest for simplifying is dinner.

I was so tired of sitting down to plan meals and feeling like I had to come up with seven new meal ideas. The funny thing is though is that we already have dinners we make and like. So I put them on cards, and this month I’m choosing from those.

I’m going to see whether it actually makes planning a little easier. I’ll report back after we’ve used them for this month.

What’s one dinner your family makes on repeat?

We were reading about Noah and the flood in Genesi We were reading about Noah and the flood in Genesis 7 this morning. I had to grab this book off the shelf to show the kids again. The illustrations are so lovely! It is illustrated by Peter Spier and is also a Caldecott Medal Winner, so of course it is :) I found this hardcover out while thrifting, and although it’s not in the best condition, and has a page ripped out, I still love it!

So keep an out for this book or anything illustrated by Peter Spier while thrifting. I have loved every single book of his I have found :)

I’m a homeschooling mom of five, and between lesso I’m a homeschooling mom of five, and between lessons, sports practices, meals, and everything else, I feel like I’m making decisions from the moment I wake up.

Lately I’ve been wondering… what could I plan ahead of time to create more peace? Or what could I just simplify to make our home feel calmer? Or to make ME feel calmer!

So this fall, I’m trying small changes. Things like keeping dinner ideas on a card system, finding a homeschool rhythm that works for us, and letting our new house take shape slowly. I’ll share what helps, what doesn’t, and what I change along the way.

If you’re tired of thinking about all the things too, you’re welcome to follow along. 🤎
