April Deep Cleaning Checklist Ideas
1. Declutter
Take the time to declutter a few extra areas. Here’s some ideas:
- I like to declutter clothes in April. I secretly love throwing away or donating winter clothes. That means I have less bulky laundry and less to store.
- Before summer rolls around, make sure your paper clutter is all organized and in order. There’s nothing worse than ending summer with a bill that forgotten and a massive pile of paper junk!
- Go throw all your kitchen dishes, mainly cups and get rid of all the extras that somehow accumulate. Takes a few minutes and really clears a lot of mental space to not have a million cups everywhere.
2. Organize:
Next, choose ONE area for this month to organize.
Ideas for this are:
- Pantry
- Office Supplies, Books, or School Supplies
- Bathroom Toiletries
3. Update:
Choose ONE area or item to update.
Ideas for this are:
- Seasonal decor on mantle
- Pillow covers
- Bedding
4. Replace:

Ideas for this are:
- Air Filters: this typically should be done quarterly, so this is a good time to do this.
- Bedding: Start putting lighter bedding on your bed.
- Do an inventory of items that are used daily: towels, dishcloths, tea towels, rugs, measuring cups. Sometimes we don’t really see what needs to be replaced because we are on auto-pilot.
Side note for you mamas: Now is the perfect time to start purchasing summer shoes for your kiddos! They are starting to roll out in stores, and all the best ones go so quickly.
