Our First Week Back + Waiting for Fall
Hi friend, hope you’re doing well this week!
We officially made it through our first week back to homeschool, and I always forget just how exhausting that first week is! After weeks of planning, organizing books, working out schedules, and trying to make sure everyone has what they need, it feels so good to finally just begin.
Thankfully, our first week has gone really well. We’re still working out a few little kinks, but I’m so happy to have everyone back on a schedule again. There’s something about getting back into our regular rhythms that makes the whole house feel a little more settled.
Now I’m more than ready for fall to catch up with us. Our schedule says fall, our school days say fall, and I’m ready for the weather to finally get the message! I’m looking forward to cooler mornings, opening the windows, baking something warm, and watching the season slowly begin to change.
For now, though, I’m grateful for a good first week, tired in the best way, and very happy to be settling back into our days at home.
In the Kitchen
A few simple recipes to try.
- Apple Pie with Golden Brown Crust : apple season is offically here. Also just try this sourdough pie crust to go with it. Trust me. This recipe is a keeper.

Around the Cozy Home
Simple finds or things I have loved around my home.
- This is in my cart. I really want one with a locking lid. Perfect for all the fall meals and soups.
- I love this and think my kids would love it too!
- We go through so many of these every year. I am grabbing this one for stockings this Christmas.
Have a great week!
