What’s Included in the Printable Set?
This set of free Thanksgiving printables includes two main parts:
1. Gratitude Leaves
These leaf shapes are perfect for writing down what you thankful for. They’re also great for other fall kids crafts, and younger children especially love the chance to color them in before writing. The printable leaf pages are simple enough for younger kids, yet still engaging for older children to keep their hands busy.
2. “I Am Thankful For…” Activity Sheet
Along with the leaves, you’ll find a coordinating activity sheet with four Emory spaces labeled for children to fill in. This coloring page becomes a keepsake all its own and is something you can tuck into a binder or display on the fridge. It’s the type of easy Thanksgiving craft that kids love to do.
Your child can write whatever they love… pumpkin pie, a favorite tradition, or something about their family. These thoughtful reflections create a memories! Be sure to put the date! It’s also a great pre-dinner activity when everyone is settling in and looking for fun way to connect.

How to Use the Gratitude Leaves
After you’ve printed the free printables, gather your kids around the table with crayons, scissors, markers, or colored pencils. Cut out eh leaves, and let them choose a leaf and begin by decorating it. Some children like simple color washes and others may add patterns, dots, or even draw tiny pictures of what they’re grateful for.
Then ask them to finish the prompt: “I am thankful for…”
Some ideas include:
- A favorite memory
- Family members
- A pet they adore
- Something in creation like a pumpkin or colorful leaves
- A small moment that made them smile
Even toddlers can participate by dictating their answer while you write it for them. Because the leaves are printable, you can give each child several… enough to create a growing gratitude collection throughout the week.

Displaying Your Gratitude Leaves
There are so many craft ideas for displaying the finished leaves. Here are two of my favorites:
1. Draw a Simple Chalk Tree on a Wall or Board
This is what I chose to do. If you have a chalkboard wall or a large sheet of kraft paper, draw the outline of a bare winter tree. Then let kids tape their finished leaves onto the branches. This turns the project into beautiful seasonal décor and becomes such a sweet reminder of the blessings all around us.
2. Create a Tabletop Gratitude Tree
For a more natural look, gather a few branches from outside and place them in a vase. Once the leaves are decorated and filled in, help your kids tape or tie each one to the branches. This centerpiece approach makes your dining table into a gratitude display. This is perfect for Thanksgiving dinner, too!
If you want a little extra texture, use brown paper bag strips as tags or ties. This adds a warm, rustic touch without needing any extra supplies.
Using the “I Am Thankful For…” Activity Sheet
Along with the leaves, the activity sheet encourages kids to think of four specific things they are thankful for.
This helps them practice gratefulness. Many parents like to include this sheet as part of their activities for Thanksgiving week because children enjoy returning to it throughout the season.
Once completed, this becomes a natural addition to your printables binder or holiday memory box. Some families even repeat the activity each year to see how their children’s answers change as they grow.
Print Instructions (Simple & Quick)
These printable activities were designed to be easy for every mom, teacher, and caregiver. Here’s how to print them:
- Download the file and save it somewhere you can find easily.
- Use regular paper, or upgrade to cardstock if you want sturdier leaves.
- Print in color or black-and-white. Your choice.
- If your kids want to make a turkey craft or something extra seasonal, encourage them to mix these leaves with other crafts or drawings.
- Trim the leaves with scissors and let children begin their creativity.
Because the pages are printable, you can reprint them throughout the season without any prep work.
Why Kids Love This Craft
This project blends art, thankfulness, and seasonal joy. Because these pages are completely free, you can print them over and over for cousins, friends, or siblings.
The set works for both at-home crafts and group games, and even the littlest ones can participate. It’s hands-on, sentimental, and will create memories for everyone. The type of activities that become cherished family traditions.
